WHEN TO GO?
During this 8-night itinerary, you will get to experience three magnificent luxurious resorts. Starting in the beautiful North Male Atoll, guests can enjoy the rich marine wildlife and natural beauty and a variety of wonderful activities plus a day visit to Male city. Following this you will enjoy three nights at the luxury all-villa resort located in the Shaviyani Atoll, featuring one of the largest lagoons in the Maldives, and the opportunity to visit the Coralarium at Fairmont and Maroshi Island. After this, guests will experience the lush vegetation and tropical waters of Haa Alif Atoll at the Hideaway Beach Resort and Spa. Mesmerizing sunsets and bespoke hospitality await guests as they end their Maldivian experience visiting Kanditheemu Island and Utheema Island as well as embarking on local traditions such as longline fishing, and Maldivian style!

DAY 1
Velana International Airport
Located 20 minutes away by speedboat, Gili Lankanfushi is a stone throw away from Velana International Airport and 25 minutes away by speedboat from Male City. On arrival, you will be greeted by our airport representative who will escort you to our jetty for that speedboat transfer. Gili Lankanfushi Maldives is an eco-resort located on Lankanfushi Islands, North Malé Atoll. The resort is surrounded by natural beauty and rich marine wildlife. Guests may enjoy activities in the surrounding area such as diving, snorkelling and surfing. Accommodation features 45 rustic-chic thatched villas, many of which include wooden jetties. Each is equipped with modern amenities such as a TV, a minibar and air conditioning. Guests may enjoy tasty meals at any of the onsite restaurants and refreshing drinks at the hotel bar. Leisure facilities include a spa and wellness centre.

Situated in the beautiful Maldives, North Male Atoll makes up the northern part of the larger natural Male Atoll. It is home to the city of Male which serves as the national capital of the Maldives and the transport hub of the islands. The well-developed North Male Atoll is known for its many resorts, hotels and guesthouses. Visitors can look forward to a variety of wonderful activities including: swimming in blue lagoons, diving and snorkelling through abundant coral reefs, lazing on pristine white-sand beaches and enjoying excellent surfing along its eastern coast which is said to have the best waves in the Maldives.

DAY 2
Day Visit to Male City
A tour of Male includes a visit for the National Museum of Maldives, Friday Mosque, The tomb of Al Babary and Mohamed Thakarfaanu, Fish market, and lunch at the seagull cafe.
Male City - One of the most densely populated cities in the world. Traditionally the Kings island Home to 227 000 Maldivians - where most Maldivians live and work and where politics takes place.
National Museum of Maldives (designed and built by the Chinese government - Pre Islamic artefacts including a Coral stone Buddhas head from the 11th century, the skeleton of a now extinct species of Whale - Diverse artefacts and Royal antiquities.
The Friday Mosque - one of the oldest Mosques in Maldives and on the Unesco World Heritage list as an example of sea culture architecture being built from dry coral.
The Tomb of Al Babary - The Hafiz, Islamic Scholar responsible for converting Maldives to Islam in 12th Century
The Tomb of Mohammed Thakarfaanu - In the 16th century Mohamed Thakurufaanu, along with his brothers fought an eight-year-long war to drive out Portuguese invaders and remove their regent Puppet on Male who was trying to convert the Maldives to Christianity. Along with his 3 brothers he landed on a different island every night to drum up support on his way to Male. The Utheema brothers along with the Maldivian people overwhelmed the Portuguese Garrison and gained independence for the Maldives nation. The Northern Alif Atoll houses Utheema Ganduvaru which is his palace and he is regarded as a National hero.
The Fish Market - A hive of activity - Pick up some fresh fish and take it back to the resort to cook for you.
Seagull Cafe - An oasis of calm in a bustling mall, greet for a coffee, ice cream, and a snack.

Today you will be transferred to your next home in the Maldives, the Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi.
Fairmont Maldives is a 120 luxury all-villa resort that offers exactly as its name translates – Secret Water Island. The island covers approximately 160,000 sqm (16 hectares) of land and features one of the largest lagoons in the Maldives, while the resort includes a 200-metre long swimming pool which traverses the length of the island, reinvigorating destination spa and an intricate open air bamboo bar created by Balinese artisans who did not use any man-made materials in the structure.

Explore The Coralarium at Fairmont
Unique to the Maldives - A coral art exhibition - they give snorkelling and diving tours around it- specially grown coral which can resist warmer sea temperatures and avoid coral bleaching - each piece of coral grown on the island with different sized holes for marine life to live in and thrive.
DAY 5
Visit Maroshi Island
Mangroves where Thakarufaanu hid his boat
Kalhuohfummi from the Portuguese on the journey south - Home to the oldest tree in Maldives the Thaani tree where Thakarufaanu rested. It's also a lovely local island and very different from the hustle and bustle of Male.

Visit Utheema Island
Gandavaru Palace - Utheemu Ganduvaru is the birthplace and home of Sultan Mohamed Thakurufaanu, one of the most revered heroes in Maldivian history.
The wooden palace in which Sultan Mohamed Thakurufaanu lived and grew up is well preserved and evokes more than any other existing building in the Maldives, the lifestyle of the rich, centuries ago. The ancient woods used in the building date back from than 500 years and come from India. Visitors are escorted around the complex by a museum staff member to see the fascinating 500-year-old wooden interiors, including swing beds (used to keep cool in the heat), lamps that burn coconut palm oil and elaborate wooden carvings, plus a large palmthatch shed used as a sleeping room for guests.

End of Itinerary
Today you will be transferred back to Velana International Airport in time to connect with your onward flight home.
